It's time to Rethink Volunteer Transportation.

Over 50 million rides are provided by Volunteers each year; we believe that is just the tip of the iceberg.

We believe in a world in which:

  • Community members can find convenient and inexpensive rides,

  • Volunteers can be rewarded for their time,

  • Agencies can connect to their riders more easily, and find new riders to serve,

  • Transit agencies can serve members with local-mile rides.

It's time to... find out how QRyde can help.

We've joined with the Community Transportation Association of America (CTAA) to create the QRyde National Volunteer Transportation Network to promote volunteer transportation across the US.

From selecting appropriate funding to utilizing local non-profits, faith groups, and agencies, communities have the ability to design the structure of their transportation network.

Communities help to organize the entire system. They are responsible for promoting the network to both local volunteers and riders as well as incorporating relevant agencies and community organizations to participate. They keep operational elements in motion by securing grants and enacting relevant processes for volunteers. Community Transportation Champions are the highlight of each locale. They seek to drive the network forward and act as a symbol of neighborhood responsibility.

Transportation moves more than just people. It enables commerce, economic development and environmental sustainability.

Agencies

VolunteerAgencies

Agencies understand the needs of the communities they serve. The QRyde NVTM expands their reach.

Agencies have a unique relationship with the QRyde network. Through the site, agencies are able to facilitate a wider community network and implement a faster, more effective outreach strategy to grow the member base of both volunteers and riders.

The QRyde NVTM gives agencies simple, yet powerful tools to connect riders with drivers. The Marketplace acts as a virtual homebase where agencies can monitor and coordinate their transportation efforts. An agency can view trips their members have requested, assign trips to drivers, and enter, view and download reconciliation data all from a single access-controlled interface.

Volunteers are the essential fuel of the QRyde NVTM. While time is precious, volunteer drivers willingly offer their efforts to riders be that through their vehicle or personal time.  QRyde NVTM has structured a unique volunteer model that allows communities to reimburse and reward drivers for their participation.

Volunteers drove over 448 million miles in approximately 24 million hours since Volunteer Transportation came into play in the 1980s (“Volunteer Transportation Network: The Facts”, United We Serve, http://www.serve.gov/site-page/toolkits/veterans/index).

Volunteer Transportation is powered by social responsibility. But it doesn’t come for free.

QRyde is fueled by dedicated communities, agencies and volunteers who utilize the network’s organized programs and sophisticated technology to keep things running smoothly, and to keep costs down. Funding for volunteer transportation can still be a challenge, however.
